Who is the racist? I use my Hacker News account as a way to bookmark things, if you have a problem with that, take it up with the moderators.

    > The Negro In Business is a book written by Booker T. Washington, a prominent African American leader and educator, that explores the history and current state of black entrepreneurship in the United States. The book discusses the challenges faced by black business owners, including discrimination, lack of access to capital and resources, and limited opportunities for education and training. Washington also highlights the successes of black entrepreneurs, including their contributions to the economy and their role in building stronger communities. Through personal anecdotes and statistical analysis, Washington offers a comprehensive overview of the state of black business in America at the time of the book's publication in 1907. The book serves as a valuable historical document and a testament to the resilience and determination of black entrepreneurs in the face of adversity. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.

      > I use my Hacker News account as a way to bookmark things

      Maybe don't? Browsers have built-in bookmark managers, there's pinboard.in, etc. :)

No. I will continue to. What's your problem?

And it's ironic your account is from 2008 and you don't know that's exactly how Hacker News started, a del.icio.us inspired, social link bookmarking service.

That's why when you click submit there's a message on the bottom thats reads:

"You can also submit via bookmarklet." Which if you click: https://news.ycombinator.com/bookmarklet.html, speaks about adding a shortcut to your browser toolbar so....

        so...

        so...

so you can bookmark via Hacker News.

And in case it needs to be said, I'm not using Hacker News as a wholesale bookmarking service (my frequency of link submissions is testament to that), only for links I think would interest this community. I believed a look into the entrepreneurial history of a marginalized community in America would be exactly that.

    > Do we really need shit like this uploaded by a racist here.

If you think it doesn't belong flag it.

But if you are calling someone racist for posting the Wikipedia page of a book whose title wouldn't be politically correct today that was written in 1907 by Booker T. Washington, then please, log off, learn some history, and come back.

I thought the audience of this website would have the base level of education such that if I had expected this response, I wouldn't have posted it.

That being said, the Wikipedia page definitely needs work.
